4.6 Development Guidelines for Existing Lots<br />

Many of the principles discussed in the raw land scenario also apply to the construction or reconstruction<br />

of buildings on existing lots. Builders siting on a specific lot should take site dimensions, site features (e.g.,<br />

topographic, drainage, soils, vegetation, sensitive resources), coastal hazards, and regulatory factors into<br />

consideration. However, several factors must be considered at the lot level; these are not a primary concern<br />

at the subdivision level:<br />
