Richard N. Greenwood, president of the

of the Carpet Institute, the trustees elected
Charles A. Karagheusian to serve as chairman
of the board. Karagheusian, who is
chairman of the board of A&M Karagheusian,
Inc., succeeds James G. Law, vicepresident
of the Magee Carpet Co. Two
new members were elected to the association's
board and two others were re-elected.
The new members are Herbert Shuttleworth,
president of the Mohawk Carpet
Mills, and Alfred de Gozzaldi, president of
Roxbury Carpet Co. Re-elected were James
D. Wise, president of Bigelow-Sanford
Carpet Co., and Joseph L. Eastwick, president
of James Lees & Sons Co.

Greenwood took over the presidency of the
129-year-old firm at the beginning of the
depression. While other seating manufacturers
were going out of business, he developed
Heywood-Wakefield into one of the
leaders in its field by the inauguration of
systems and policies such as the development
of new products, national advertising
and the installation of conveyors at the
plant.

At a series of banquets across the United
States, 265 employes of the product manufacturing
and service divisions of the Radio
Corp. of America were inducted into the
RCA Victor 25-Year Club and presented
with gold watches in recognition of their
long service. The addition of the new'
group brought the number of eligible employes
to nearly 1,800.
It was originally organized
by RCA product and service division
in 1948.
The largest ceremony took place at
Philadelphia where 166 new members were
em-oUed at a luncheon which was attended
by 1,200 other club members. The
main speaker at the ceremony was Theodore
A. Smith, vice-president and general
manager of the engineering products division.
D. P. Schmit, vice-president in charge
of engineering, awarded the watches.
The other new members were enlisted at
plant ceremonies at Lancaster, Pa.; Indianapolis,
Cincinnati, Los Angeles, Detroit,
Camden and Harrison, N. J.
