Remodeled FWC Theatre
Opens at Long Beach
LONG BEACH. CALIF.—Completely remodeled
and refurnished, the Imperial Theatre
here has been reopened by Fox West
Coast with Forrest Justus as house manager.
The 804-seat showcase is equipped with Bodiform
chairs, special acoustical plaster and
a 19x40-foot Miracle Mirror screen capable
of handling standard and all wide screen
ratios as well as theatre television. It also
has magnetic stereophonic sound equipment.
PORTLAND

a downtown parade. Herb Royster, Parker
publicity director, praised the enthusiasm and

Marie Wilson was in a second week at
Amato's supper club here breaking in the
act she will open at the Flamingo Hotel in
Las Vegas January 27. for which she will
get $20,000 a week.
Win Sage, one of MGM's new term contract
players, was in Portland visiting his
wife, a librarian for KGW here. The Sages
are moving to Los Angeles. He is tentatively
inked in for a role in MGM's forthcoming
musical, "Kismet." His last film role was in
"Dragnet" where he played the role of the
killer. He was accompanied by Allan Weider
on a round of press and TV station interviews.
Moz Buries Installs Wide Screen
WHITE SALMON, WASH.—Moz Buries,
owner of the Canyon and Cameo theatres, has
installed a wide .screen at the Cameo. The
Canyon already had gone wide .screen earlier
in the year.

Roy Evans is back on the job as first run
district manager for Fox West Coast after
recuperating from a recent appendectomy
A. Hickey. Pacific coast district
chief for MGM, took off on a tour of the
San Francisco, Portland, Seattle and Salt
Lake City exchanges.
Lou Berman and associates have acquired
a 15-acre site on the outskirts of Oxnard. on
which construction of a 1.000-car drive-in is
planned. The ozoner will have a 110-foot
screen and approximately 200 walk-in seats.
The Berman group also operates the 101
Drive-In near Ventura.

Theatre Corp.. proprietors. Details of the
deal were kept secret.
