permitted in the particular zone, with no external storage of materials,<br />

containers or finished products.<br />

4. Retail sales shall not be permitted in a home occupation, except for:<br />

a) goods produced or made on the premises, including lo<strong>ca</strong>l artisans;<br />

b) telephone or internet sales or sales where the customer does not enter<br />

the premises to inspect or pick-up goods;<br />

c) mail order sales;<br />

d) direct distributors where customers do not enter the premises to inspect,<br />

purchase or pick-up goods; and<br />

e) sale of products directly related to the home occupation.<br />

5. A home occupation shall not be permitted to have any commercial vehicle,<br />

exceeding one (1) tonne in vehicle weight, to be lo<strong>ca</strong>ted outside of an<br />

unenclosed building.<br />

6. Only the inhabitants of the principal dwelling unit may <strong>ca</strong>rry on the home<br />

occupation lo<strong>ca</strong>ted on the site occupied by the principal dwelling unit.<br />

7. A home occupation shall not generate traffic congestion or parking problems<br />

within the District and must not produce a public offence or nuisance of any<br />

kind.<br />

8. The number of employees shall be limited to two (2) for any given time<br />

period, except for seasonal and holiday relief.<br />

7.18 Home Industries<br />

The following regulations apply to home industry uses where permitted as a use in<br />

this <strong>Bylaw</strong>:<br />

.1 Home industries include but are not limited to the following:<br />

a) manufacturing, processing, assembling, warehousing, storing,<br />

distributing, testing, repair and fabri<strong>ca</strong>ting provided that use is entirely<br />

contained within a building, and service industries provided that the use<br />

is entirely contained within a building;<br />

b) service industries provided that the use is entirely contained within a<br />

building;<br />

c) printing shops;<br />

d) contractors’ offices and yard, including plumbing, <strong>ca</strong>rpentry, electri<strong>ca</strong>l,<br />

and similar shops;<br />

e) trade schools or edu<strong>ca</strong>tional centres for a maximum of ten (10) students;<br />

f) taxi services, not exceeding two (2) vehicles.<br />

.2 <strong>No</strong> home industry shall be used for the salvage or storage of derelict<br />

vehicles and equipment, used building supplies or domestic products and<br />

similar dis<strong>ca</strong>rded or recyclable materials.<br />
