African Coloured Indian White Total African Coloured Indian White Total c) Population group In 2010, the majority (87%) of the people working in the health sector are black, 38 while white workers constitute only 13% of the total workforce. In private sector organisations, 22% of the workforce is white and in the Public Service only 7% (Table 2-3). Fifty two per cent of professionals in the private sector are Africans and 71% in the Public Service, while respectively 80% and 86% of community and personal service workers in the private sector and in the Public Service are Africans.
