American artist Kristina Garon
creates intuitive abstract
expressionist paintings full of bold
colors that reverberate with an energy
that carries a deeper, fuller, clearer
meaning than can be perceived at
first glance. She pours her boundless
energy into paintings that synthesize
abstract and figurative art in new ways.
In vibrant, seemingly abstract works, she
expresses her creativity devoid of any
outward limitations of theme, subject, or
style. Yet upon closer examination, her
colorful, dreamlike paintings are full of
intricate details depicting stories of how
people’s choices and decisions come to
have a positive or negative impact on
their lives.
Rather than seeking inspiration and
ideas from the outer world, Garon waits
patiently for her muse. She believes we
are all part of a Universal Mind that is
both omnipotent and omnipresent, and it
is from here that she receives what she
calls her “deliveries from the universe.”
These inspirations come to her in rough
form, leaving it to her to reveal what
lies beneath the surface and rendering
her paintings “a glimpse of human life
unfolding in front of our eyes.”

In using acrylics to create rich
textures, Garon embraces
both the fluidity and versatility
of this particular medium.
Her paintings combine bold,
aggressive strokes and delicate,
intricate detail. Colors also
bridge seemingly dichotomous
terrains, blending bright and
happy colors with more sober
hues. In this way, she explores
the contradictions of life, in
particular the way the human
experience can be a combination
of joy and of sorrow.
Always, Garon reminds us that
“possibilities for discovery are
endless,” and that “art means
always knocking loudly at the
door of the unknown.” Through her art,
she invites the viewer on a simultaneous
journey of inner discovery and outer
exploration of the world we live in, both
moving and inspiring us to reconsider life
as we know it to be.
Born to a French family in Lithuania,
Kristina Garon currently lives and works
in the Washington DC area. She has
received international recognition for her
work.
