109. Single Accommodation Toilet - Unisex Restroom to the Left on the
2nd Floor at Pierce Annex.

28” minimum between the side of the water closet and any fixture or a minimum of 32” clear space between the side of
the water closet to opposite wall or partition.
18” between centerline of water closet and side wall or partition.
42” min. clearance between centerline of water closet and opposite wall.
The top of the toilet seat is 17” - 19” from the floor surface measured to the top of a maximum 2” high toilet seat
(a 3” high seat shall be permitted only in alterations where the existing fixture is less than 15” high).

Flush valve is on wide side of the water closet
5 lb. max. force is required to operate the flush valve.
The toilet paper dispenser is located on the side wall below the grab bar and within 12” of the front of the toilet
seat.

Areas not meeting new construction standards:
60” minimum diameter turning circle, or a T-shaped clear space, is provided in room with 12” maximum door encroachment
into the required clear space. (50”.)
A minimum 60” wide and 48” deep clear floor space is provided in front of water closet. (60” x 44-1/4”.)
Front of toilet paper dispenser is within 36” of the back wall. (38”.)
Recommendation:
Requires engineering/architectural evaluation.
Relocate the toilet paper dispenser away from the top of the grab bars or proposed grab bars.
