Installing BFX
This section describes the installation of BFX in step-by-step procedures.
Prerequisites for Installation
H211 BFX needs the following prerequisites for successful operation:
An IBM z/OS system that is running the H210IP or H210IPZ NetEx/IP software product
At least one other host with its own NetEx/IP and BFX software.
Release Distribution
H211 BFX for z/OS is distributed as a downloadable file.
Distribution Contents
The H211 distribution consists of one file (h211.bin). It is a TSO TRANSMITed file, which when received,
results in creating a PDS library that contains two members (BFXINST and BFX0104), which are used to
complete the H211 installation. The h211.bin distribution file can either be downloaded from Network
Executive Software, or it can be copied from physical media, depending on the obtained distribution. To
download the distribution file, contact support at support@netex.com for download instructions.
BFX0104
BFX0104 is a member in the PDS that is created when the H211.bin distribution file is processed with the
TSO RECEIVE command. BFX0104 is another TSO TRANSMITed file that consists of all of the BFX
libraries necessary to complete the installation.
BFXINST
BFXINST is a member in the PDS that is created when the H211.bin distribution file is processed with the
TSO RECEIVE command. BFXINST is a job that extracts the installation libraries from BFX0104, then
performs the necessary steps to complete the installation..
Before Installing H211
Before installing H211 BFX fox z/OS, the H210IP or H210IPZ NetEx/IP installation should first be completed.
