Hong Kong Awards for Industries – Consumer<br />
Product Design<br />
The Hong Kong Awards for Industries (HKAI) was officially<br />
launched in 2005 by merging the former Hong Kong Awards for<br />
Industry and Hong Kong Awards for Services, established in 1989<br />
and 1997 respectively, to streamline and update the two award<br />
schemes.<br />

The Hong Kong Awards for Industries consists of seven award<br />
categories. To reflect the prestige of the Awards Scheme, only one<br />
Grand Award is presented to the most outstanding entry in each<br />
category during each year.<br />
The Design Council of Hong Kong, under the auspices of the FHKI,<br />
organises the annual Hong Kong Awards for Industries – Consumer<br />
Product Design category. The competition is considered to be the<br />
most prestigious product design competition in Hong Kong.<br />

In 2007, a total of 171 entries for the Consumer Product Design<br />
category were received, an increase of over 18 percent from the<br />
previous year; this increase is indicative of Hong Kong companies’<br />
continuous emphasis on consumer product designs. Among<br />
the entries, one Grand Award, six second-tier Awards and nine<br />
Certificates of Merit were given out.<br />
