Group 20 Hong Kong Trade Services Council
The Council’s Spring Dinner was held at the Langham Hotel in
April 2007. There were over 240 guests with Raymond Or, vicechairman
and chief executive of Hang Seng Bank Ltd, as the guestof-honour.
The dinner included magic and singing performances
and ended with an exciting lucky draw.
The Council organised a three-day mission to Shanghai on
September 2007, which was led by chairman Stanley Yim and
vice-chairman Dr Measure Hung. Delegates visited the 2007
International Sourcing Fair, Shanghai Ongoing Department Store,
Business Management Faculty and Institute of Microelectronics
of Fudan University and met with officials from the Hong Kong
Economic and Trade Office in Shanghai (SHETO) to discuss
the latest retail market trends of Shanghai. Over 20 delegates.

In February, the Council presented a submission to the Legislative
Council on the Trade Descriptions (Amendment) Bill 2007. In the
submission, the Council stated its support for the Government to
strengthen consumer protection and urged that some proposed
requirements be relaxed to minimise their impact on traders and
retailers.
另 外 , 協 會 於 2007 年 9 月 組 團 前 往 上 海 考 察 , 由 主 席 嚴 玉 麟 與
副 主 席 洪 劍 峰 博 士 率 領 , 吸 引 了 20 多 名 會 員 參 加 。 團 員 到 訪 了
2007 年 國 際 跨 國 採 購 大 會 , 久 光 百 貨 及 復 旦 大 學 管 理 學 院 及
微 電 子 學 研 究 所 。 他 們 又 與 特 區 政 府 駐 上 海 經 濟 貿 易 辦 事 處 代
表 會 面 , 探 討 上 海 零 售 市 場 的 趨 勢 。
今 年 2 月 , 協 會 就 《2007 年 商 品 說 明 ( 修 訂 ) 條 例 草 案 》 向 立 法
會 提 交 了 意 見 書 。 協 會 於 意 見 書 上 重 申 , 支 持 政 府 加 強 保 障 消
費 者 權 益 , 但 促 請 有 關 方 面 放 寬 一 些 規 定 , 以 減 低 對 貿 易 商 和
零 售 商 帶 來 的 影 響 。
Group 21 Transport and Logistics
Services Council
In October 2007, W C Mok, principal environment
protection officer (Mobile Source Control) of the
Environmental Protection Department was invited to
a casual luncheon to speak on the implementation of
the Euro IV emission standard. An incentive scheme
for old diesel commercial vehicle replacement was also
introduced.
The delegation with representatives from the Martime Technical
Support Department, Maritime Administration of Macao.
