GSC Sentinel-2 PDGS SRD Issue 1 Revision 2 (draft) - 25.07.2010 GMES-GSEG-EOPG-RD-09-0028 page 130 of 204 5.13.5 DESIGN & DEVELOPMENT REQUIREMENTS S2-PDGS-DAG-245 The PDGS/DAG function shall be designed following a client/server paradigm in which the client is hosted at the user site and the servers are hosted at the PDGS CGS/PAC centres and CDAM centres. S2-PDGS-DAG-250 The design of the PDGS/DAG function shall be such as to prevent misuse of its intended functionality in gaining unauthorized access to the PDGS resources or to user information (e.g. via common hacking techniques). S2-PDGS-DAG-255 The PDGS/DAG function client software shall be portable to a wide range of client computer platforms (HW+OS) including Microsoft Windows, Apple Macintosh MacOS-X and commonly used UNIX based workstations. S2-PDGS-DAG-260 The PDGS/DAG function client side software shall be implemented in a low-level language (e.g. Java, C++, etc) excluding the use of proprietary software libraries or languages requiring a non free-of-charge run-time license. S2-PDGS-DAG-265 The PDGS/DAG function shall interface with the DAX function to locate the data available for download. S2-PDGS-DAG-270 The PDGS/DAG function shall interface with the AI function to gather the data required for the download operations. S2-PDGS-DAG-275 The PDGS/DAG function shall interface with the MMUS function on one end and to the DPC and AI functions on the other for managing the dataflow of the hosted-processing operations. S2-PDGS-DAG-280 The PDGS/DAG function interface to the MMUS function shall comply to the MMUS ICD(s) for the triggering and management of the product download requests. S2-PDGS-DAG-285 The PDGS/DAG function design shall comply to the MMUS ICD(s) for the commanding and control of the hosted-processing activities. GSC Sentinel-2 PDGS SRD Issue 1 Revision 2 (draft) - 25.07.2010 GMES-GSEG-EOPG-RD-09-0028 page 131 of 204 5.14 Multi-Mission User Services (MMUS) Requirements 5.14.1 FUNCTIONAL REQUIREMENTS S2-PDGS-MMUS-005 The MMUS function shall offer the following services to the Sentinel-2 Users: Login & Authentication; Centralised user authentication and authorisation (catalogue search, products browse, product download); Access to complete and comprehensive information about the GMES Sentinel-2 mission and products (e.g. Quality, etc.) their availability and mechanism to access them; Advertising of available mission, instruments and products documentation, including generic mission description and list of relevant mission products; Periodical provision of quality updated information on the available Sentinel-2 products, past and planned instrument unavailabilities; General support information on the available services Mission Data Online Catalogues Browsing providing query & download capability for mission data products; Advertising of preset data subscriptions; On-line data products download services, via catalogue view, and status check; Automation on the products download activities according to the users subscribed datasets; Enhanced on-line data-access supporting user-triggered hosted-processing requests and management; Generating statistics and reports on the most demanded catalogue search requests, products requested for download, etc; Content publishing management according to available mission documentation including Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ); Support-Desk available during normal working hours (i.e. 5 days per week and 8 hours per day or according to national legislations); S2-PDGS-MMUS-010 The MMUS function shall offer anonymous users access to have access to a limited and configurable amount of services and information, including the following ones: Self-registration capabilities; Mission Data Online Catalogues Browsing providing visibility capability according to public datasets defined by the HLOP; Access to complete and comprehensive information about the Sentinel-2 mission and products (e.g. Quality, etc.); ESA UNCLASSIFIED – For Official Use © ESA The copyright of this document is the property of ESA.
