GSC Sentinel-2 PDGS SRD Issue 1 Revision 2 (draft) - 25.07.2010 GMES-GSEG-EOPG-RD-09-0028 page 189 of 204 APPENDIX-A PDGS REQUIREMENTS SEMANTIC AND FORMAT The PDGS requirements are presented through the following convention: Requirement Identifier under the form S2-PDGS-FFF-NNN, where FFF is a sub-class of requirements (e.g. the function Acronym); NNN is a three digits progressive number inside each sub-class. Requirement Description: Free text The following language definitions are used to specify a GMES Sentinel-2 PDGS requirement: SHALL is used to indicate a mandatory requirement SHOULD indicate a preferred alternative, but it is not mandatory MAY indicate an option WILL indicates a statement of fact or intention The verification method by TEST shall be preferred, unless one of the other methods can be established at acceptable level of confidence while being cost and schedule effective. The requirements are organized in different categories or classes according to the following table. Requirement Category / Class Description This requirement class describe WHAT the PDGS shall perform to satisfy its objectives. Functional In this sense the functional requirements capture the intended behaviour of the PDGS system. This behaviour may be expressed as services, tasks or functions the system is required to perform Performance This requirement class describe those PDGS requirements that typically quantify the operational value of other (functional) requirements.
