GSC Sentinel-2 PDGS SRD Issue 1 Revision 2 (draft) - 25.07.2010 GMES-GSEG-EOPG-RD-09-0028 page 182 of 204 5.20.4 RAMS REQUIREMENTS S2-PDGS-M&C-100 The PDGS/M&C function shall ensure availability better than 99.7% computed over one month time window and assuming a degradation of such figure for no more than one day. Availability is applicable to all M&C components (i.e. agents, console, etc). 5.20.5 DESIGN & DEVELOPMENT REQUIREMENTS S2-PDGS-M&C-105 The PDGS/M&C function shall be designed to allow effortless integration of the M&C agents within other PDGS functions. (Capacity to deploy M&C agents in different platforms, logging services to other PDGS function shall be supported in different platforms, etc.). S2-PDGS-M&C-110 The PDGS/M&C function shall support all the PDGS functions for monitoring information gathering and log reporting. Accordingly it shall supply the client logs management libraries to the other PDGS functions designs. S2-PDGS-M&C-115 The PDGS/M&C function design solution shall allow swift configuration, customisation on the desired information displayed and associated visualisation widgets (e.g. memory consumption evolution shall be displayed in a 2-D graphical X-Y widget). S2-PDGS-M&C-120 The PDGS/M&C shall reuse extensively existing well proven open-source solutions for each performed activity (e.g. log4j logs libraries, chainsaw log console, others). S2-PDGS-M&C-125 The PDGS/M&C shall provide log messages supply mechanisms for usage and integration within other PDGS functions (i.e. log messages management libraries). 5.21 Data Communication Requirements 5.21.1 FUNCTIONAL REQUIREMENTS S2-PDGS-NET-005 The PDGS shall embed Data Communications functions in support to all other functions. ESA UNCLASSIFIED – For Official Use GSC Sentinel-2 PDGS SRD Issue 1 Revision 2 (draft) - 25.07.2010 GMES-GSEG-EOPG-RD-09-0028 page 183 of 204 Local connectivity systems/hosts located within each centre/facility (Local Area Network, LAN) Geographical connectivity between all the PDGS centres (Data Circulation Network, DCN) Geographical connectivity between the PDMC (PDGS Data Management Centre) and the FOS located at ESA/ESOC in Darmstadt (Germany) (FOS Circulation Network, FCN) Geographical connectivity between some PDGS centres and the final users for data dissemination purposes (Data Dissemination Network, DDN) Geographical transportation of physical media between PDGS centres, including media procurement shipment and recycling between centres (Media Circulation Network , MCN) Voice communication facilities across PDGS centres (Voice Communication Network, VCN). The LAN, DCN, FCN, and DDN are hereafter referred to as the PDGS Network. S2-PDGS-NET-010 The PDGS Network shall rely on commercial-of-the-shelf (COTS) devices. compliant with the following standards: IEEE 802.3-2008 TCP/IP protocol suite as standardised by IETF. S2-PDGS-NET-015 The LAN shall support 100/1000 Base T interfaces and 10 Gigabit Ethernet interfaces for special cases (in compliancy with the current Ethernet standard IEEE 802.3-2008). S2-PDGS-NET-020 The DCN shall provide additional connectivity via the EDRS data-repatriation multicast link and as such comply to its applicable TX and RX interfaces. S2-PDGS-NET-025 The DDN shall provide additional connectivity via the EDRS data-dissemination broadcast link and as such comply to its applicable TX and RX interfaces. S2-PDGS-NET-030 The DCN, FCN and DDN network functions shall be able to support Quality of Service techniques for differentiating and prioritizing high-priority traffic. S2-PDGS-NET-035 The PDGS Network functions shall provide a set of auxiliary ICT network services aimed to ensure the necessary connectivity and security services, such as: © ESA The copyright of this document is the property of ESA.
