Chapter 2 - EXISTING CONDITIONS<br />

This chapter presents an existing socio-economic pr<strong>of</strong>ile <strong>of</strong> <strong>Greater</strong> <strong>Sudbury</strong>. It describes<br />

the characteristics and role each transportation mode is currently fulfilling with respect to<br />

meeting <strong>Greater</strong> <strong>Sudbury</strong>’s mobility needs.<br />

Chapter 3 - HOUSEHOLD SURVEY<br />

This chapter discusses the methodology used to conduct the household survey, geo-coding<br />

<strong>of</strong> the survey data, expansion and validation <strong>of</strong> the survey data to account for sample size,<br />

and the analysis <strong>of</strong> survey results.<br />

Chapter 4 - TRAFFIC FORECASTING MODEL<br />

This chapter presents the approach used to forecast future travel demands and describes<br />

each <strong>of</strong> the key elements <strong>of</strong> the forecasting model, i.e., traffic zone development, trip<br />

generation, trip distribution, and model validation.<br />

Chapter 5 - FUTURE CONDITIONS<br />

This chapter presents the projections <strong>of</strong> future population and employment by traffic zones,<br />

future travel demands, and assignment <strong>of</strong> future traffic on the existing (with committed<br />

improvements) road network.<br />

Chapter 6 - OVERALL TRANSPORTATION STRATEGY<br />

This chapter presents various options to address the transportation challenges in <strong>Greater</strong><br />

<strong>Sudbury</strong>, the evaluation <strong>of</strong> these options and the major building blocks that have been used<br />

to facilitate implementation <strong>of</strong> the recommended option.<br />

Chapter 7 - ASSESSMENT METHODOLOGY<br />

This chapter describes the evaluation methodology and identifies the factors and indicator<br />

measures used to assess various network alternatives.<br />

Chapter 8 - ROAD NETWORK IMPROVEMENTS<br />

In this chapter, improvements that benefit the road network, as a whole, are discussed.<br />

Chapter 9 - LOCAL ROAD IMPROVEMENTS<br />

This chapter discusses local improvements that can be undertaken to provide relief to<br />

specific areas within the <strong>City</strong>.<br />

Chapter 10 - ROAD DESIGNATIONS<br />

This chapter identifies current road designations within <strong>Greater</strong> <strong>Sudbury</strong>. To meet future<br />

needs, required changes to the current designations are identified. Road access polices<br />

required to maintain an acceptable level <strong>of</strong> service are also discussed.<br />
