Disabled Student Parking: If you possess a disabled permit/plate issued by the Department of Motor Vehicles, you may park in the designated blue placard parking spaces on campus. Please remember that you may not park in spaces reserved for wheelchair-only parking unless your permit designates this type of parking. Your disabled permit must be clearly displayed in your vehicle. You must also purchase and properly display an FRC parking permit. The CHP routinely patrols disabled parking spaces on campus and may require proof of disability, so carry a copy in your vehicle at all times. FRC does not intervene in this process on your behalf. Although FRC meets State of California requirements for the number of disabled parking spaces, the available of these spaces may be insufficient at various times of the day. Students who can arrange to be dropped off at the upper campus are encouraged to do so. DSPS also provides rides to the upper campus for disabled students. Contact that office to make on campus transportation arrangements, if necessary. Visitor Parking: Visitor parking is for people visiting campus. It is not for students to conduct business on the upper campus. Visitor parking is limited to 15 minutes without a permit. Visitor Parking Permits can be obtained from the campus switchboard operator. Bicycles, Motorcycles, Skateboards and other Modes of Transportation: Bicycles must be parked in the racks located throughout the campus. Bicycles, motorcycles, skateboards, roller-skates, rollerblades, and similar modes of transportation (except wheelchairs) are prohibited in buildings and may not be ridden on campus paths, walkways, and grassy areas. Citations Are Issued If: A valid parking permit is not displayed in the lower left hand corner of your vehicle windshield. You park in any unauthorized area; this includes double parking and parking along the creek or any grassy area. You park in visitor parking. You park in blue placard spaces designated for persons with disabilities. Your vehicle is left parked for more than 72 hours; it will be cited as
abandoned and towed at your expense. Bicycles or motorcycles are parked in restricted areas. Citations issued by FRC may be contested within 30 days from the date of issuance. Contact the Director of Facilities, ext. 259, for the policy and procedure for contesting citations. Plumas Transit Systems (bus service): 530-283-2538 All students enrolled at FRC are entitled to unlimited bus service within Plumas County through Plumas Transit Systems. Plumas Transit includes round trip bus routes Monday - Friday between Chester and Quincy, Portola and Quincy, and within the local Quincy Area. The FRC pick-up location is in the lower parking lot by the MPB. Bus schedules are available at the following locations: Campus Center, Admissions & Records, or view at www.plumastransit.com. Plumas Transit Systems reserves the right to amend route schedules at any time. Your Student Photo ID Card, with current semester validation sticker, will serve as the Bus Pass for Plumas Transit. Go to the Admissions & Records Office to obtain your photo ID card. Road Conditions: Call CALTRANS at 800-427-7623 for current information on the road conditions for all major California roadways. 13
