Instructional Resource Center sciences, and GED exam preparation. The Instructional Resource Center is staffed by professionals dedicated to helping students achieve academic excellence across the curriculum and personal success. The Center offers a variety of services including individualized or group tutoring, writing critiques, instructional assistance in Math and the Tutorial Services: The Center offers free group and individual peer tutoring in most subjects. <strong>Student</strong>s who have mastered a specific course are hired to tutor that particular course. Tutoring information is available in the Instructional Recourse Center. Math Lab: Staff provides assistance with any math course or math related coursework in physics, chemistry, forestry, water resources, etc. Writing Lab: Staff provides assistance with drafting, writing, and editing papers for any college class. They also provide instruction on research processes such as locating information and citing sources. English as a Second Language (ESL): Instruction in the principles and usage of the English language is provided for second language learners. The ESL Instructional Assistant is available to help students communicate with instructors and staff, build study skills, and understand campus life. Computer Lab: Computers are networked with the FRC Library and have full access to the Internet and campus e-mail. Software available: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, & Publisher. Library The library is a pleasant, comfortable, welllighted facility with tables for group study and individual carrels and lounge chairs for students to study or read for pleasure. An audiovisual room allows students to use the media collection in privacy without disturbing others. Thirty computer workstations provide students with high-speed connection to the Internet and the local campus network. Wireless capability throughout the library allows students with their own laptops and mobile devices to access the Internet as well. High quality research can be performed using the scholarly electronic databases accessible to students from both on and off campus (an FRC network account is required). Word processing, spreadsheet and other appropriate software applications are available, enabling students to perform research and write their assignments without leaving the library. The library supports the college curriculum with a collection of over 22,000 books in hardcopy, 11,000 e-books, more than 100 periodical subscriptions, several state, local and national newspapers, and hundreds of videos and DVDs.
