Probation, Dismissal and Appeals
If you have not maintained satisfactory academic progress, you will receive a letter
notifying you of your probation or dismissal status. Due process is available.
Consult the 2010-2012 FRC College Catalog (pgs. 67-70) for details regarding
standards for probation and dismissal and due process policy and procedure.
Student Intervention Committee (SIC)
The role of the Student Intervention Committee is to help students who are
experiencing academic and non-academic difficulties. The committee includes
faculty members, advisors, student services staff, and coaches. Using an Early
Alert process, instructors or staff members refer students who are facing issues
such as poor grades, non-attendance, illness, family emergency, emotional
difficulties, a disability, or financial problems.
If you are referred to this committee, you will be contacted by a committee member
who will work to connect you with campus services and resources. They may also
refer you to community agencies to help with non-academic challenges you might
be facing. The goal is to help you remain in school and succeed.
