What is a Student Education Plan?
It is a plan you develop in cooperation with an academic advisor describing
your academic and career related goals.
The plan includes setting up a list of classes needed each semester in order
to meet your career, degree, and/or transfer goal.
The plan also includes referrals to college services, if necessary, to assist
you in meeting your goals.
Who needs to make a Student Education Plan?
Everyone should make an education plan.
The plan helps clarify your reason for attending FRC and sets the path for
meeting intended goals.
Why is it important to make a Student Education Plan?
It helps avoid wasting time and money on taking unnecessary courses.
It helps in choosing the right courses for transfer and make transferring to
another college less of a hassle.
It helps in planning, evaluating and selecting a career that will be right for
you.
Remember, any plan you make now is NOT carved in stone;
it can be changed and modified as your goals change.
Satisfactory Academic Progress
You are considered to be maintaining satisfactory progress when your grade point
average (GPA) is 2.0 or higher. Special satisfactory progress requirements exist if
you are a financial aid recipient, EOPS student, veteran, and/or student athlete. It
is your responsibility to understand and maintain all course and academic
requirements that pertain to you.
