During supervision, Sarah, a peer <strong>VetSEd</strong> provider, mentions that she has<br />

questions about responding to <strong>Veteran</strong> ambivalence.<br />

Sarah: ―I‘m working with several <strong>Veteran</strong>s who say they want to go to school, but<br />

seem to struggle to follow through on tasks between meetings that we have<br />

identified as important steps to take.<br />

Supervisor: I imagine that might make it difficult to feel like you‘re moving<br />

forward from week to week.<br />

Sarah: Absolutely! I just don‘t know how to help Vets who say they want to go to<br />

school, but then don‘t follow-up on next steps.<br />

Supervisor: It can be challenging, for sure; however, there are ways of<br />

approaching it. Sarah, it sounds like you‘ve identified a learning opportunity in<br />

your role as <strong>VetSEd</strong> provider. Remember in our first few supervision meetings we<br />

discussed your list of personally meaningful goals in your <strong>VetSEd</strong> role and the fact<br />

that the list can be updated/edited at any time. I‘m curious if learning more about<br />

responding to <strong>Veteran</strong> ambivalence is something you‘d like to include on that list?<br />

Sarah: Yes, that would be great!<br />
