List three different schools in your area.

Fill out Worksheet #8: Educational Expenses two times for each of the three different
schools in your area.
School A: Collect all possible information from the school‘s Web site, and then use
phone calls/e-mail to confirm or gather additional information.
School B: Start with a visit to the school to fill out the spreadsheet, and then follow up
with review of the Web site.
School C: Start with e-mail and phone calls to complete the form, and then follow up
with review of the Web site.
For each section of the worksheet, note what sources (Web site, phone call/e-mail to
whom? etc.) you used to locate the information and how long it took to obtain the
information you needed.
Which sources of information were the quickest?
Which sources were the most user-friendly?
Were there any contradictions in information from different sources (i.e. online said
one cost and person in financial aid office quoted a different cost)?
What parts of the spreadsheet were the most challenging to complete?
What were the differences between the schools in terms of how information was
available to complete these spreadsheets?
