Job Description:
Tending and cleaning twisting
frames, placing package of yarn on
creel, knotting broken ends and
doffing twisted yarn bobbin.
Job Skill Standards:
I. Trade Theory:
1. Know the purpose of twisting
and the working principle of a
twisting frame.
2. Know the dangerous parts and
the safety devices on twisting
frames.
3. Know the names of the main
parts of a twisting frame.
4. Be aware of the importance of
keeping a twisting frame in a
clean condition.
5. Know the different types and
numbers of ring travellers and
their relation with yarn counts.
6. Be aware of the importance of
NOT using a steel knife to cut
off roller laps.
7. Be aware of the importance of
removing wrongly folded ends,
and oil-stained or dirty yarn from
the tubes of pre-folded or folded
yarn.
8. Be aware of the importance of
maintaining correct twist in the
thread when ends are started or
pieced.
9. Be aware of the importance of
correcting slack spindle tapes and
badly running spindles.
10. Be aware of the importance of
tying correct knots and taking
care to keep yarn waste to a
minimum.
11. Be aware of the importance of
applying brakes on spindles when
putting on or pulling off bobbins.
