Measuring, cutting and joining
flat leather belts and other leather
works.
Job Skill Standards:
I. Trade Theory:
1. Be aware of the importance of
producing correctly cut and
joined leather belts in regard to
life of belt and efficient power
transmission.
2. Have a knowledge of the treatment
for different kinds of
leathers.
3. Know the difference in cutting
length for different kinds of new
and used leather belts.
4. Be aware of the importance of
joint direction in regard to
running direction of the belt.
5. Be aware of the importance of
economizing in the use of leather.
6. Know the dangers of fixing a belt
on a pulley when it is revolving.
II. Trade Skill: Be competent in:
1. Measuring, cutting and joining
flat leather belts.
2. Dressing and repairing used
leather belts.
3. Mixing adhesive paste for joining
leather belts.
4. Fixing a belt on a pulley.
5. Ascertaining the suitability of
different leather belts for various
purposes.
6. Using all kinds of leather
economically.
III. Skill Standard:
