Job Description:
To be directly responsible to the
electrician for all electrical works.
I. Trade Theory:
1. Be aware of the danger and
safety precautions relating to
spinning and electrical equipment.
2. Be aware of the potential fire
hazards of electrical equipment
and know the fire-fighting procedure.
3. Be familiar with the codes of
practice in use in Hong Kong
relating to the earthing of electrical
equipment and also the
treatment for electrical shock.
4. Have a basic knowledge of electrical
theory including illumination,
simple circuit calculations
and the principles of operation
of machines and transformers.
5. Be familiar with fault-tracing
and testing techniques applied
to simple circuits.
6. Understand simple wiring diagrams.
7. Know the different types of
electrical measuring instrument
for measuring current, voltage
and power.
8. Be aware of the importance of
ventilation of electrical equipment
and of keeping the equipment
in a clean condition.
II. Trade Skill: Be competent in:
1. Using hand tools and electrical
measuring instruments.
2. Jointing and soldering various
types of cables.
