II. Trade Skill: Be competent in:
1. Starting and stopping a machine,
threading up sliver, piecing sliver,
creeling, doffing, changing and
positioning balls of wool tops and
sliver cans.
2. Differentiating between the types
of wool tops and markings on
cans of different slivers.
3. Cleaning the machines efficiently
according to the schedule.
4. Taking corrective action, if irregular
sliver or abnormal wool
tops are discovered.
5. Taking corrective action, if the
machine cannot be stopped by
automatic device when the sliver
is broken down at back or front
of the frame or the can is full or
a roller is lapping.
6. Taking corrective action, if the
operation of faller bars, rollers,
calenders and clearers are not in
order.
7. Taking corrective action, if the
oil spjaying device and/or autolevelling
equipment are not
working properly.
8. Identifying the different counts of
sliver and roving as well as knowing
the difference between the 1st
passage slivers and 2nd, 3rd or
4th passage slivers.
III. Skill Standard:

(a) Piece 4 adjacent breaks behind
the frame in 20 seconds.
