Saving and Loading Data (<strong>NP</strong>-<strong>V80</strong> Only)<br />
This section describes operation of the<br />
file control functions after you have<br />
engaged the file control function mode.<br />
Messages may appear on the display during file<br />
control procedures to aid in smooth operation. Refer<br />
to the Message List on page 83 for details.<br />
NOTE<br />
• No sound will be produced if the keyboard is played while the<br />
file control display is showing, and only buttons related to file<br />
control operations will be active.<br />
NOTE<br />
• The file control display will not appear during:<br />
• Style or song playback.<br />
• Lessons.<br />
• USB flash memory read operations.<br />
Basic File Operation<br />
If multiple files are available for selection, use the<br />
dial to select the desired file.<br />
Press the [0] button to confirm the selection. The [0]<br />
button also executes the selected function. The [-]<br />
button cancels the selected function.<br />

Format a USB Flash Memory<br />
USB flash memory devices must be properly formatted<br />
before they can be used with this instrument.<br />
NOTICE<br />
• If a USB flash memory that contains data is formatted as<br />
described below, the data will be erased. Make sure that a<br />
USB flash memory to be formatted contains no important<br />
data before carrying out the formatting procedure.<br />
USB flash memory save, delete, and format operations<br />
can only be performed when the instrument is<br />
being powered from an AC adapter. These operations<br />
cannot be performed using battery power.<br />

Select the Format function.<br />
Press the category [ ] or [ ] button as many<br />
times as necessary until the “Format?” function<br />
appears.<br />

Format?<br />
Execute the Format function.<br />
Press the [0] button. A confirmation message will<br />
appear. Press the [0] button a second time to execute<br />
the Format operation, or press the [-] button<br />
to cancel the operation.<br />
NOTICE<br />
• The Format operation cannot be cancelled during<br />
execution. Never turn off the power or disconnect the<br />
USB flash memory during formatting.<br />
Wait until a message indicating completion of the<br />
formatting operation appears.<br />
Exit from the file control function mode.<br />
Press the [VOICE], [STYLE], [SONG], [FUNC-<br />
TION], or [GRAND PIANO] button.
