Garbage separation
The environmental awarness is coined very much in Germany, this
is why the garbage separation nearly already belongs to the
everyday life. Waste mountains can be reduced by the recycling of
garbage and energy costs can be lowered. Therefore, the garbage
is strictly separated in paper, organic materials (biogarbage),
plastic, tins and glass. Towns provide separate garbage bins or
bags for the different kinds of garbage. These are emptied
regularly. The annual waste calendar informs you about which
garbage bin or bag is emptied on which days and in which district.
Garbage disposal
In Germany the garbage disposal is the task of the city and districts. These have developed their own
waste systems depending on the conditions in their area, so that the garbage disposal can also be
regulated differently from place to place. If you rent an apartment or a house, your landlord usually takes
care of the garbage disposal and accounts for the resulting fees via the additional expenses in your rent.
As owners of a house it is of your own concern to supply garbage bins, and waste fees are charged to
you directly.
The waste fees of the various cities and municipalities differ. Generally speaking the fees offer a financial
incentive to separate the collection of bio wastes, paper, glass and other valuable material. Due to the
