When making payments via transfer money is electronically sent from one account to another. In addition
a remittance form is needed, which is provided with the invoice (of the sum to be paid) or can be collected
from the bank at the counter. You can also transfer electronically at the terminal by using the EC card.
The most convienient means of transfer is through Internetbanking. For international credit transfers a
Swift code must be indicated, which the bank supplies.
For recurring fixed payments such as rent a standing order can be arranged linked to your account. It is
only necessary to instruct your bank on this just once, after which the appropriate amounts are then
automatically transferred from the account. You can fill in a form in one of your branch banks or use the
appropriate function in your Internetbanking.
If monthly amounts vary, as for example with telephone costs, you can give the receiver a direct debit
authorization. You must send this authorization in writing to the appropriate business. The receiver then
has the right to deduct the amount from your current account.
Standing orders and debits will be continued for any amount of time, until the authorization is cancelled in
person or in writing. When using Internetbanking standing orders can easily be arranged, changed or
deleted problem-free. Some banks also offer limited functions from the start, i.e. the first and last payment
can be directly indicated.
Internetbanking
For Internetbanking transactions the bank will issue a pin (personal identification number) and a TAN list
(transaction number). You can log in by entering your account number, the pin and a further security
identification or number, depending on the bank’s policies. Different functions will then be available in the
Internetbanking menu. The account balance can be indicated, standing orders changed or transactions
executed. For most of the actions it is necessary to register a specific number from the TAN list. This
number can only be used once. Before all the TAN numbers are used up, your bank dispatches a new list
to you on time. If you lose the TAN list or a third party receives unwarranted access to the list, please
cancel the list by phoning the bank.
