changes the user's Domain Control Database (DCDB) in<strong>for</strong>mation.<br />

The NETWIN USER command must be invoked by an administrator at a primary<br />

domain controller. It will provide the following options:<br />

userID Specifies an existing user account.<br />

/ADD Indicates that a <strong>Windows</strong> application will be added<br />

to the specified user's desktop. When /ADD is<br />

specified, /APP must also be specified.<br />

/DELETE Indicates that a <strong>Windows</strong> application will be<br />

removed from the user's desktop. When /DELETE<br />

is specified, /APP must also be specified.<br />

/DESKTOP:pathname Indicates that a restricted desktop is to be<br />

assigned to the specified user. When /DESKTOP<br />

is specified, /TYPE must also be specified.<br />

Specifies a fully-qualified path (on the domain<br />

controller) to the default desktop of the type that<br />

will be assigned to the specified user.<br />

/APP:appid Specifies the unique application ID of an existing<br />

<strong>Windows</strong> application definition that is to be added<br />

or removed from a user's desktop. /APP is valid<br />

only when used with /ADD or /DELETE.<br />

/TYPE:{WIN9X | WINNT} Indicates the type of the restricted desktop that<br />

will be assigned to the specified user. /TYPE<br />

should note be specified with /ADD or /DELETE.<br />

The NETWIN USER command must ensure that the following criteria are met<br />

be<strong>for</strong>e attempting any user management:<br />

The Server service is started.<br />

The local machine is the domain controller.<br />

A user is logged on with administrator privileges.<br />

When adding a restricted desktop to a user account, a home directory will be<br />

created <strong>for</strong> the user if the user does not have one. The home directory will be<br />

created in PKG_DIRvalue\users\userid, where PKG_DIRvalue defaults to<br />

<strong>IBM</strong>LAN\DCDB\ and the userid is specified on the command line.<br />

The home directory in<strong>for</strong>mation will be added to the users account on the<br />

server.<br />
