The Workstation Record<br />

The workstation record in the RPL.MAP file contains 15 fields (1 through 9<br />

and A through F). Fields are delimited by spaces. An empty field must contain<br />

a tilde (~) character that serves as a place holder. Table 1 describes each of<br />

the fields in the workstation record.<br />

the primary network adapter in the client workstation<br />

to which this entry refers. This field can also contain<br />

question mark (?) characters <strong>for</strong> DOS Remote IPL<br />

records that are used as wildcards. Do not use these<br />

wildcard characters in OS/2 or <strong>WorkSpace</strong><br />

<strong>On</strong>-<strong>Demand</strong> Remote IPL records.<br />

2 WCF1 WorkstationmachineID.Canbeupto15characters<br />

in length.<br />

3 - Not used. Must contain a tilde character.<br />

4 W32DOSSB For DOS Remote IPL, this is the name of the diskette<br />

image used to IPL the client (an extension of .IMG is<br />

assumed). This field is limited to eight characters in<br />

length <strong>for</strong> a DOS client.<br />

28 <strong>WorkSpace</strong> <strong>On</strong>-<strong>Demand</strong> <strong>2.0</strong> <strong>Feature</strong> <strong>for</strong> <strong>Windows</strong> Clients<br />

For <strong>WorkSpace</strong> <strong>On</strong>-<strong>Demand</strong>, this is the name of the<br />

FIT file to be used when booting the client. The path<br />

name is relative to the RPLDIR path (which is typically<br />

\<strong>IBM</strong>LAN\RPL). An extension of .FIT is assumed.<br />

5 GA_SRV For DOS Remote IPL, this field contains the name of<br />

the Remote IPL server where the diskette image file<br />

and other files <strong>for</strong> the DOS workstation are stored.<br />

This name is limited to 15 characters.<br />

6 Z or GA_DOM For DOS Remote IPL, this is the name of the domain.<br />

For OS/2 and <strong>WorkSpace</strong> <strong>On</strong>-<strong>Demand</strong> clients, this is<br />

the drive letter <strong>for</strong> the RIPL boot drive. Use a letter<br />

from C through Z. Do not use a local hard disk drive.
