Every year of the five-year life of Czech Radio Region, Vysočina
has brought it one step closer to the complete emancipation
of the station, whether this involved the gradual
extension of its broadcasting or its own music playlist. I see
2006 as the definitive “coming of age” of public-service regional
broadcasting in the Vysočina Region. We replaced standard
free-flow and limited format broadcasting by morning
and afternoon magazine programmes. The new subject segments
are based on the personality of the presenter, on guests
and phone-in listeners. The originally dominant role of news
and current affairs has been balanced out by a more varied
subject and genre structure. There has been an overall rise in
spoken word output, the share of which has distinctly increased
over that of music. Emphasis is placed on live broadcasts,
while prerecorded contributions have been wound down
considerably. The structure of our scheduling has been inspired
by that of the large regional Czech Radio stations.
The musical range at Czech Radio Region over the year
has again increased in variety. As the station has acquired its
own music editor and selector, we were able to adapt our
playlist to the musical preferences of the people of Vysočiny.
In specialized programmes, country and folk fans get their
money’s worth, as do lovers of sixties music and more recently
brass band buffs. Output from local artistes also plays
a prominent, stable role in our range of music. Thanks to the
assistance of other Czech Radio stations, which have made
their music databases available to us, we have roughly doubled
the musical range of our station. This has naturally been
reflected positively in the quality of the playlist.
During 2005 I had to point out that Czech Radio Region
was suffering from excessive staff turnover. In 2006 this situation
levelled out and our team became more stabilized.
Importantly, we managed to find good replacements for two
presenters who took maternity leave almost at the same time.
The team also underwent reorganization in connection with
the reprogramming at the station. In particular, we started to
deal more systematically with the script editing of programmes.
Due to the considerable rotation of guests during broadcasts
we also had to strengthen the analysis and planning of
our broadcasts.
Again I have to praise the CartMaster broadcasting software.
More than two years of work with this system has fully
confirmed that it precisely matches the needs of a station of
this type. Moreover, during this time there has been no serious
breakdown resulting in the loss or limitation of broadcasting.
We also use CartMaster for broadcasting in the field.
The replacement of old analogue desks by digital ones has
also proven worthwhile, and the new Klotz offers simpler and
safer operation for presenters in particular. As in previous years
Každý rok z pětileté existence Českého rozhlasu Region,
Vysočina s sebou přinesl jeden krok k úplné emancipaci stanice,
at už se jednalo o postupné rozšiřování vysílání či vlastní
hudební playlist. Rok 2006 hodnotím jako definitivní dovršení
plnoletosti veřejnoprávního regionálního vysílání v Kraji
Vysočina. Standardní proudové, formátově omezené vysílání
jsme nahradili dopoledním a odpoledním magazínem. Nové
tematické bloky jsou postaveny na osobnosti moderátora,
hostech a kontaktu s posluchačem. Původně dominantní roli
zpravodajství a publicistiky vyvážila pestřejší tematická a žánrová
skladba. Celkově došlo k výraznému posílení mluveného
slova, jehož podíl vůči hudbě zřetelně narostl. Důraz je kladen
na živé vysílání, předtočené příspěvky byly výrazně redukovány.
Ve stavbě programu jsme se inspirovali velkými regionálními
stanicemi Českého rozhlasu.
Hudební nabídka Českého rozhlasu Region v průběhu roku
znovu nabyla na pestrosti. Díky tomu, že stanice získala vlastního
hudebního redaktora a selektor, jsme mohli přizpůsobit
playlist hudebním preferencím obyvatel Vysočiny. Ve specializovaných
pořadech si na své přijdou ctitelé folku a country,
hudby šedesátých let a nově také příznivci dechové hudby.
Stálou a důležitou pozici má v hudebním spektru tvorba umělců
z kraje Vysočina. Díky pomoci ostatních stanic Českého rozhlasu,
které nám poskytly své hudební databáze, jsme zhruba
zdvojnásobili hudební nabídku stanice. To se příznivě odrazilo
na kvalitě playlistu.
V roce 2005 jsem musel konstatovat, že Český rozhlas Region
trpí nadměrnou fluktuací pracovníků. Rok 2006 v tomto
Prosincové vysílání z proskleného studia na jihlavském náměstí
doprovázela soutěž v běhu na lyžích. Veselo bylo i bez sněhu.
