Tradičně důležitou součást činnosti SOČR představují zahraniční
zájezdy. V tomto směru bylo těžištěm roku 2006 osmé
japonské turné, uspořádané ve dnech 23. června – 10. července.
SOČR hrál publiku v nejprestižnějších japonských sálech,
dirigoval Vladimír Válek, jako hlavní sólista účinkoval
vynikající ruský klavírista Stanislav Bunin.
Bohatá byla i natáčecí činnost orchestru ve spolupráci s Českým
rozhlasem 3 – Vltava. Mimo jiné vznikla kompletní
nahrávka klavírních koncertů V. J. Tomáška, kterou ve světové
premiéře vydala firma Supraphon, a navázala tak na předchozí
úspěšné projekty, komplety symfonií A. Dvořáka (2004)
a P. I. Čajkovského (2005). Připraven je už další titul, nahrávka
zásadních orchestrálních děl B. Smetany.
For this challenging work, an unprecedented number of
artistes (three singers, four reciters, two choirs and three conductors)
gathered in the Dvořák Hall at the Rudolfinum. The
performance standard was assessed by experts as outstanding.
Open rehearsals now make up an integral part of the orchestra’s
activities, bringing in full audiences of senior citizens
and students, who come from practically all parts of the country.
Another traditionally important part of Prague Radio Symphony
Orchestra activity consists in its tours abroad. During
2006, these centred around the eighth Japanese tour, arranged
from 23rd June to 10th July. The Prague Radio Symphony
Orchestra played to the public in the most prestigious concert
halls in Japan. Vladimír Válek conducted, while the outstanding
Russian pianist Stanislav Bunin was the first soloist.
The orchestra’s recording activity in collaboration with
Czech Radio 3 – Vltava was also extensive. It included a complete
recording of the piano concerts by V. J. Tomášek, which
was brought out by Supraphon as a world premiere and so carried
on from previous successful projects, such as the complete
symphonies of A. Dvořák (2004) and P. I. Tchaikovsky (2005).
Another title is now in the pipeline – a recording of the chief
orchestral works of B. Smetana.
Since January 2006, the Czech Radio Big Band has been
under the Production Centre umbrella for its dramaturgy and
organization. Ten public recordings have been made during
the year at Studio A in Karlín, which have met with great
interest by listeners in the studio. Also noteworthy was an
open-air concert which we arranged on 9th September in the
Czech Radio Karlín building garden. This two-hour long concert
was broadcast direct by Czech Radio Regina, Czech Radio
Region Středočeský kraj, Czech Radio Pardubice and Czech
Radio Region Vysočina. The recording was also broadcast later
by Czech Radio 2 – Praha.
Of key importance for the successful development of the
Czech Radio Big Band is the close collaboration between principal
conductor Václav Kozel and music adviser Jan Spálený,
who has been at the Production Centre since 2006.
The Czech Radio Big Band has taken part over the year in
a number of music festivals (in Třeboň, Jihlava and Česká
Kamenice), the highly prestigious 40th annual Czechoslovak
Jazz Festival in Přerov and the 9th annual Swing Festival at
the National House in Vinohrady in Prague.
Od ledna 2006 zastřešuje Big Band Českého rozhlasu po
dramaturgické a organizační stránce Producentské centrum.
V průběhu roku se uskutečnilo deset veřejných nahrávek ve
Studiu A v Karlíně, které se vždy setkaly s velkým zájmem
posluchačů přímo ve studiu. Pozoruhodný byl koncert, který
jsme uspořádali 9. září pod širým nebem v zahradě karlínské
budovy Českého rozhlasu. Tento dvouhodinový koncert vysílaly
v přímém přenosu stanice Český rozhlas Regina, Český rozhlas
Region Středočeský kraj, Český rozhlas Pardubice a Český
rozhlas Region Vysočina, záznam odvysílal Český rozhlas 2 –
Praha.
Pro zdárný vývoj Big Bandu Českého rozhlasu je klíčová
úzká spolupráce šéfdirigenta Václava Kozla a dramaturga Jana
Spáleného, který je v producentském centru od roku 2006.
Big Band Českého rozhlasu se zúčastnil během roku řady
významných hudebních festivalů (Třeboň, Jihlava, Česká Kamenice),
velmi prestižního 40. ročníku Československého jazzového
festivalu v Přerově i 9. ročníku Swingového festivalu v Národním
domě na Vinohradech v Praze.
