AKF Tajikistan Vision
AKF shares AKDN's long-term vision for Tajikistan, to contribute to the development of an economically dynamic, politically stable,
intellectually vibrant and culturally tolerant society.
AKF Tajikistan Mission
The mission of AKF Tajikistan is to improve living standards of people in Tajikistan by promoting health, education, rural development and
civil society in a participatory and inclusive manner.
AKF works with government at oblast and districts levels in GBAO, Rasht Valley, Khatlon and Sugd oblast and at the national and ministries
level in Dushanbe, drawing on the resources and expertise of the international donors, locally registered organizations and AKDN partner
organizations including MSDSP, Institute for Professional Development (IPD), Aga Khan Agency for Microfinance (AKAM), Aga Khan
Education Services (AKES), Aga Khan Fund for Economic Development (AKFED), Aga Khan Health Services (AKHS), Aga Khan Trust for
Culture (AKTC), FOCUS Humanitarian Assistance (FOCUS), University of Central Asia (UCA).
AKF implements programmes in Tajikistan in collaboration with international donors, which include: His Highness Aga Khan, Government
of Tajikistan, Act Central Asia (ACA), Aid to Artisans, Asian Development Bank (ADB), Canadian International Development Agency
(CIDA), Department for International Development (DFID), European Commission Humanitarian Organization (ECHO), European Union
(EU), German Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ/GTZ), Netherlands Organization for International Development
(NOVIB), Swedish International Development Agency (Sida), Swiss Agency for International Development and Cooperation (SDC),
Technical Assistance for Commonwealth of Independent States (TACIS), The Christensen Fund, The OPEC Fund for International
Development, United States Agency for International Development (USAID), United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), World Bank
