Organization Profile
The Eurasia Foundation of Central Asia mobilizes public and private resources to help citizens participate in building their future by
strengthening their communities and improving their civic and economic wellbeing.
The Eurasia Foundation of Central Asia (EFCA) is a non-profit organization founded in 2005 to support local initiatives in civic engagement,
private enterprise, education and public administration. EFCA indigenizes the work of Eurasia Foundation, a privately managed non-profit
organization, which has invested more than $40 million in Central Asia since 1993.
EFCA has offices in Almaty, Bishkek, Dushanbe and Osh. EFCA plans to run 40 to 50 medium-sized development programs per year in the
region, representing funding from more than 30 donors, including core funding from the U.S. Agency for International Development
(USAID).
In addition to targeted programs, EFCA reviews unsolicited proposals under its Open Door program and awards grants to organizations
working at the local level to support initiatives in EFCA’s mandate area.
