Organization Profile
Global Partners is a Brithish based humanitarian aid organization which is non political, non religious and non profit. GP has its headquarters
in Redhill, England and also a Regional office (Central Asia Branch office) in Sharjah United Arab Emirates.
The stated purpose of Global Partners is to relieve poverty and to advance education while developing projects throughout the country to
relieve poverty and human suffering, disaster response, as well as preparedness training with local communities to prevent disaster and
respond to emergencies.
Global Partners was registered at MFA of RT in 1998 under the number 049 and was re-registered at the Ministry of Justice in 2007 under the
number 59 "A" as an Representative of the Humanitarian Company.
Global Partners has many offices in many countries including Thailand, Singapore, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iran, Cyprus, Turkey, Indonesia,
Hong Kong, etc.
Any request of assistance should be sent to our main office in Dushanbe where they will be considered on an individual basis.
Past and Current Programmes
Completed Projects:
The Disaster Management Team has been active in the following projects.
Qumsangir Earthquake Response. In response to an earthquake in Qumsangir province in August of 2006 GP cooperated with Oxfam
and Habitat for Humanity to build 81 houses in Zamini Nov.
Navrus Canal project. GP helped the local villagers in Navrus, Kabodian District construct a new canal that would provide irrigation
water to 15 families in the village.
Dehvak Flood Response. GP provided wood and cement for repair of 15 homes destroyed by the flood in Dehvak village in the
Tursunzoda District.
Gharghara Canal Project.GP provided 5 Km of pipe to the village of Ghaghara in the Danghara District to supply over 1000 people with
clean drinking water.
Kumsoi Riverbanking Project.The Kumsoi village in the Zarafshan valley had serious erosion and GP team began to help the villagers
address the problem May 5, 2007. GP contributed $12,850 to the project which corrected the course of the Zarafshan river and saved the
village's orchards and farmland.
Turbakula outhouse project. GP built an outhouse (hojat hona) for a school near Sharinav. The village’s name is Turbakula 4.
In cooperation with the State Agency for water Resources of GBAO were renewed damaged parts of the irrigation canal in following
districts of GBAO: Roshkala, Rushon, Ishkashim,Vanj, Darvaz and Shugnon.
Participation in the work for liquidation of consequences of collapse at "PAMIR ENERGY" company in Tang village of the Shughnan
district
Humanitarian Assistance to the Shokhirizm village in Roshtqala district.
Bank Reinforcement Activity in Saninc village of the Roshtqala district. Destruction of the River Bank supplied under the danger
village households, houses and fields. In cooperation with Ministry of Emergency Situation was rebuilt a dam.
Yazgulom bridge reconstruction in Vanj district.
Construction of dwelling house in Pish village of the Shughnan district.
Ongoing Projects:
GP's Medical Programm has trained family doctors in Polyclinic #8, where USAID funded through Zdrav Plus.
Nurek Housing Project. The aim of the project is to relocate 20 families from a dangerous landslide area near Nurek Dam and provide
20 houses for them to move into.
Provide drinking water to the village of Shahidi Bobohon in the Baljuan District.
GP has constructed homes in following districts of GBAO: Shugnon, Rushon, Roshtkala, Vanj and Murgab.
GP in Khorog will continue to repair damaged parts of the irrigation canal.
Rushnoii Jahon Small Business Development Initiative:
render legal advice to poor people;
render commercial law services to business people;
provide business advice to young business people..
Future Programming Direction
GP Khorog office will continue to work in cooperation with the Ministry of Emergency Situations to respond to Disasters.
GP will continue to offer disaster Management programmes in Badakhon and Khatlon.
We also expand our disaster management project into the Rusht valley and open an office in Garm in 2008.
Out family practice training program for doctors will continue and we hope to add training for nurses in 2008.
