Vigilance Awareness Week<br />
The Vigilance Awareness Week was observed from<br />
31 October to 5 November, 2011 at CRRI, Cuttack and<br />
its regional stations at Hazaribag and Gerua. Shri<br />
Santosh Upadhyay, IPS, IGP (Vigilance), Govt. of<br />
Odisha and Chief Guest of the occasion addressed the<br />
staff of CRRI and gave certificate for participating in a<br />
debate competition in Hindi, English and Odia on ‘Participative<br />
Vigilance’.<br />
Workshop on Fly-ash<br />
A one day workshop under the DST funded project<br />
‘Confidence Building and Facilitation of Large scale<br />
Use of Fly-ash as an Ameliorant and Nutrient Source<br />
for Enhancing <strong>Rice</strong> Productivity and Soil Health’ was<br />
Farmer’s shared their experiences. The KVK demonstrated<br />
the zero till machine and the reaper to the farmers.<br />

Odisha and Chhattisgarh on <strong>Rice</strong> Production technology<br />
sponsored by ZPD, Zone-VII, Jabalpur during 30 to<br />
31 May, 2011.<br />
Training Programme on <strong>Rice</strong> Production Technology<br />
sponsored by ATMA, Begusarai, Bihar during 17 to 23<br />
January, 20<strong>12</strong>.<br />
Training Programme on Hybrid <strong>Rice</strong> Production Technology<br />
sponsored by SIMA Rahmankhela, Lucknow<br />
during 27 to 31 January, 20<strong>12</strong>.<br />
Training Programme on <strong>Rice</strong> Production Technology<br />
sponsored by BTC Kokrajhar, Assam during 1 to 7<br />
March, 20<strong>12</strong>.<br />
organized at CRRI, Cuttack on 20 November, 2011.<br />
More than 50 farmers from the adopted villages of the<br />
project participated and gave their experience in using<br />
fly-ash in their fields with rice Gayatri and Swarna.<br />
Kisan Diwas<br />
The Kisan Diwas was organized by the CRRI Regional<br />
Station, Hazaribag at village Chauria in<br />
Hazaribag on 4 November, 2011. On this occasion farmers<br />
spoke on their experience of growing the varieties of<br />
the station.<br />
Farmer’s Field Day<br />
A Farmers’ Field Day and training programme was<br />
organized at the KVK, Koderma on 4 November 2011<br />
which was inaugurated by Dr. Anand Prakash, Director<br />
(Acting), CRRI. Dr. Prakash listed out the new research<br />
activities to tackle emerging problems of growing<br />
rice. Dr. V.K. Singh, PC, KVK, Koderma, spoke on<br />
the objectives. Dr. M. Variar outlined the research<br />
programmes. He also spoke on the new rice varieties<br />
brought out by CRRI Regional Station, Hazaribag.<br />
