20<strong>12</strong> in which fifteen farmers participated. Dr. Ashok<br />

Patnaik coordinated the programme.<br />

Mid-term progress review meeting of the DBT sponsored<br />

network research project entitled ‘Establishment<br />

of National <strong>Rice</strong> Resource Database’ was organised on<br />

19h November, 2011 at CRRI, Cuttack. Dr. B.C. Patra<br />

coordinated the programme.<br />

A twenty one day Field Experience Training was conducted<br />

from 8 to 28 November, 2011 for the scientists of<br />

84th FOCARS batch at CRRI. The programme was coordinated<br />

by Drs G.A.K. Kumar and J.R. Mishra.<br />

A training programme on ‘Seed Production and<br />

Characterisation of Farmers’ Varieties was organised<br />

by CRRI in collaboration with the State Seed Testing<br />

Laboratory, Govt. of Odisha on 28 june, 2011 for personnel<br />

of selected NGOs and state department officials.<br />

Exposure Visits<br />

A total of 4370 visitors including farmers (3411),<br />

farmwomen (214), students (442), agriculture officers<br />

(295) and scientists (8) from Odisha, Andhra Pradesh,<br />

Jharkhand, Tripura, West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Kerala,<br />

Madhya Pradesh, Punjab, Chattishgarh, Uttar Pradesh,<br />

Assam and Bihar have visited CRRI experimental plots<br />

and Oryza Museum and were addressed by the rice<br />

experts of the institute.<br />
