6. Discussion
The Council has made the decision to combine the management of the
Wynyard Community Centre and Railway Institute Hall and vest this role in a
single Special Committee.
The following section outlines the Schedule of Delegation and Operating
Procedures proposed to apply to the Committee:
Pursuant to Section 24 of the Local Government Act 1993 the Waratah-
Wynyard Council hereby establishes a Special Committee as detailed in
Schedule 1 and 2 below.
SCHEDULE 1
1. The name of the Special Committee shall be the:
Community Centre/Railway Institute Hall Management Committee
SCHEDULE 2
1.
Objectives of the Committee
1.1. To manage the Wynyard Community Centre (including the
surrounding buildings) and the Railway Institute Hall on behalf of
Council.
2.
The Committee Structure
2.1 The Committee shall consist of six (6) members at any one time.
2.2 The Committee shall appoint a Chairperson at the Annual General
Meeting.
2.3 The Committee will be made up of the following:
• 1 Councillor of Waratah-Wynyard Council
• 1 representative from St. John Ambulance
• 1 representative from the Wynyard Children’s Services
• 1 Community Representative
• Community Development Officer of Waratah-Wynyard
Council (or a person acting in that position)
• 1 representative from a major user group of either the
Community Centre or the Railway Institute Hall.
