Perhaps best known as the former owner of the
Minnesota Vikings football team, Red McCombs’
accomplishments as entrepreneur, executive and
philanthropist are equally impressive. When not
managing business interests that span the automotive,
broadcasting, financial and energy sectors, Mr. McCombs
oversees the activities of the McCombs Foundation,
through which his family donates more than $8 million
each year to deserving organizations. The University of
Texas Business School, which was renamed in his honor,
received a $50 million gift from the foundation in 2000.
