• Calculation of age at the 25th, 50th and 75th percentiles<br />

The ages given for the 25th, 50th and 75th percentiles are linear approximations from data by single year of<br />

age. The i-th percentile is calculated as follows: let age k be the age for which less than i per cent of new entrants<br />

are younger than k years of age and more than i per cent are younger than k +1. Let P (
