V. COMPETITION SYSTEM<br />

Article 7<br />

Number of participating teams<br />

7.1. The number of teams participating in the <strong>YAC</strong> <strong>EURO</strong> Qualification depends on the<br />

number of complete and approved registrations.<br />

7.2. The team of the Member Federation hosting the respective <strong>YAC</strong> <strong>EURO</strong> qualifies directly<br />

for the final tournament of the Competition.<br />

7.3. Moreover for the <strong>EHF</strong> Women’s 19 and Men’s 20 <strong>European</strong> Championships, the two<br />

best ranked teams of the <strong>YAC</strong> <strong>EURO</strong> of the previous age category (W17/M18) qualify<br />

directly for the final tournament of the Competition. If the team of the Host Federation<br />

is one of those two best ranked teams, the third best ranked team qualifies additionally<br />

directly for the final tournament of the Competition.<br />

7.4. The teams of the other Member Federations having a complete and approved<br />

registration must play the <strong>YAC</strong> <strong>EURO</strong> Qualification.<br />

Article 8<br />

<strong>YAC</strong> <strong>EURO</strong> Qualification – playing system<br />

8.1. <strong>YAC</strong> <strong>EURO</strong> Qualifications are played in a format of tournaments with groups. The<br />

number of groups and the number of teams in each group depend on the number<br />

of teams registered and participating in the <strong>YAC</strong> <strong>EURO</strong> Qualification. The final format of<br />

each <strong>YAC</strong> <strong>EURO</strong> Qualification is decided by the <strong>EHF</strong> and announced to the participating<br />

Member Federations in due time prior to the beginning of the <strong>YAC</strong> <strong>EURO</strong> Qualification.<br />

The decision of the <strong>EHF</strong> is final.<br />

Group formation / Draw<br />

8.2. The composition of the groups of each <strong>YAC</strong> <strong>EURO</strong> Qualification is decided by<br />

a public draw carried out by the <strong>EHF</strong> in a place and at a date to be announced by the<br />

<strong>EHF</strong> in due time.<br />

8.3. The seeding for the draw is based on the ranking of the teams in the previous <strong>YAC</strong><br />

<strong>EURO</strong> of the same gender.<br />

8.4. Priorities for the organisation rights of the tournaments are drawn after the draw for<br />

the composition of the groups. The Member Federation ranked first according to the<br />

draw has the first right to organise the tournament. Member Federations which<br />
