2-6-6. Ethernet Loop Detection Modularized 24+2G Switch The Ethernet Loop Detection function provides a means to detect the loop condition on the sub-network connected to the port. If such a condition is detected, the port will be disabled by the Switch. Users can enable or disable the function for the whole Switch or per port. If the port is disabled because the loop condition has been detected, the port needs to be enabled again manually. 2-6-7. Trunking The Link Aggregation Control Protocol (LACP) provides a standardized means for exchanging information between Partner Systems on a link to allow their Link Aggregation Control instances to reach agreement on the identity of the Link Aggregation Group to which the link belongs. Move the link to that Aggregation Group and enable its transmission and reception functions in an orderly manner. Link Aggregation lets you group up to four ports into a single dedicated connection. If more than four ports attached to the same Switch have LACP enabled, the additional ports will be placed in standby mode, and will only be enabled if one of the active links fails. All ports on both ends of an LACP trunk must be configured for full duplex, either by forced mode or auto-negotiation. This feature can expand bandwidth to a device on the network.
