Arrivals screen<br />
In typical software for clinics, patient arrivals are recorded in the appointment<br />
book, alongside all the appointments listed for each practitioner throughout the<br />
day. In a busy practice, this page can become difficult to navigate <strong>and</strong> front desk<br />
staff can easily lose track of each patient’s arrival – be it late, on time, or a noshow.<br />
Shortcuts Fusion has introduced a new screen, solely dedicated to recording<br />
arrivals. This means front desk staff can quickly <strong>and</strong> easily view <strong>and</strong> arrive<br />
clients on one screen – without having to search client-by-client through the<br />

the same, automatically updated Arrivals Screen – without having to leave the<br />

‘The Arrivals Screen makes the whole process a lot quicker,’ Morkham-Calvert<br />
explains. ‘A clear list of who should be arriving now is constantly on display, <strong>and</strong><br />
the front-desk staff simply click a button to register each client as they come in.<br />
When a client is late to arrive, their listing automatically turns red. This feature<br />
allows practitioners in different rooms to see exactly what’s happening out in the<br />
waiting room.’<br />
Visual treatment records<br />
This feature is designed to help keep track of a client’s progress, record a<br />
comprehensive history of their treatments <strong>and</strong> also update the point-of-sale <strong>and</strong><br />
stock levels with each treatment performed in-clinic.<br />
‘This feature uses face-mapping technology, with markers for different<br />
treatments, so the clinician can update each client’s treatments as they are<br />
provided. For example, if four units of anti-wrinkle injectables have been used<br />
on the forehead <strong>and</strong> crows feet, this information is directly reflected in the Visual<br />
Treatment Records,’ Morkham-Calvert explains.<br />
‘This not only helps keep a detailed history of each client’s treatments, it<br />
also automatically updates the point of sale system <strong>and</strong> professional stock<br />
levels in “real-time”, according to what’s been used with each client. The point<br />
of sale update can be especially important for client privacy, as the client does<br />
not have to return to the front desk <strong>and</strong> talk about the treatment they just<br />
received; it’s already on the system <strong>and</strong> they can be charged accurately,’<br />
Morkham-Calvert adds.<br />
Surcharges<br />
Manually calculating surcharges is now a thing of the past. This feature enables<br />
clinics to automatically calculate <strong>and</strong> schedule surcharges for weekends, public<br />
holidays or for certain payment types.<br />
‘The clinic can configure exactly how much they wish the surcharge to be, <strong>and</strong><br />
for which days <strong>and</strong> payment types. Shortcuts Fusion then automatically adds<br />
this surcharge into the point of sale,’ Morkham-Calvert explains. ‘No customer<br />
likes a surcharge, particularly when they have to wait for the calculation at the<br />
front desk, so Shortcuts makes surcharging quick <strong>and</strong> clear for both the staff<br />
<strong>and</strong> the customer.’<br />
