The cosmetic surgery arena is ever-evolving.
With male cosmetic surgery more popular
than ever before, and a rise in demand for
certain treatments, we bring you the most unusual
procedures on the cards for 2015. Some are certainly
here to stay – for example, buttock augmentation
and neck lifting are reaching unprecedented levels
of popularity – while others remain on the fringes
of public consciousness. How hot are they? It’s
your call.
Grin lift
Lifting tired, sagging, drooping skin is certainly a tried-andtested
method in facial cosmetic surgery – be it face lifting,
brow lifting or neck lifting. But the latest type of lifting to
grace the industry is grin lifting – to reverse the appearance
of a drooping smile.
The grin lift is a surgical procedure to lift the corners of
the mouth, which commonly droop with ageing. During the
procedure, the surgeon removes two small triangles of skin
from above each corner of the mouth to, quite literally, turn
that frown upside-down.
Although a number of patients would likely benefit from
the grin lift, an experienced surgeon and diligent postprocedure
care is a must, as the post-operative scarring
can be clearly visible.
