Projekte versteigert. Im letzten Jahr wurden mit der
Versteigerung der Fotoarbeit von David LaChapelle
180.000 Euro eingenommen.
by the Life Ball. Last year, the auctioning of David
LaChapelle’s photography work raised an unbe liev able
180,000 euro. The work is on display across all of
Vienna, supported by the gewista. This year, some
2,000 large posters advertise the Life Ball and its
motto in public areas across the city. A video produced
by the photo grapher of the shoot is decorating numerous
digital advertising spaces on the city’s under ground.
Ellen von Unwerth and Gery Keszler were in agreement
from the outset: the parallels between Adele Bloch
Bauer and Tom Neuwirth’s ‘Conchita Wurst’ are
evident: at 26 years old, Conchita is the same age as
Adele when she modelled for Klimt. Both are muses
and hundred years later, the battle for acceptance and
progress and for artistic freedom continues. Gery Keszler
says of his collaboration with Unwerth: ‘Of course, we
had a very precise idea about the poster which we discussed
with Ellen in advance. Ellen then worked with
her professional team and closest employees to implement
this in line with her high aesthetic standards.’
At the end of that day, the result was a sensational
subject matter as well as the feeling that the motto
of the Life Ball 2015, the ‘Ver Sacrum’ spring festival
and its inspiration for creativity, was brought to life
in a unique way.
