Der inhaltliche Auftakt zum Life Ball steht ganz
im Zeichen des Safe Water and aids Project
(swap) — des Crystal of Hope Empfängers 2014.
hiv-positive frauen in Kenia werden im Rahmen
von swap zu „community health promoters“ ausgebildet
— Schulungen rund um Gesundheit und Trinkwasseraufbereitung
machen sie so zu Gesundheitsbotschafterinnen,
die sich in den Dienst der Bevölkerung stellen.
Die Frauen erhalten als Startkapital Gesundheits- und
Hygieneprodukte wie Seifen, Reinigungsmittel, Windeln
und Kondome. Der Verkauf dieser Produkte lohnt
sich in doppelter Hinsicht: Die Bevölkerung profitiert
von erhöhten gesundheitlichen Standards, die das
hiv-Infektionsrisiko minimieren, die Promotoren
vom finanziellen Erlös aus dem Verkauf ihrer Produkte.

The prelude to the life ball will take place
on 13 May when the Salon Imperial will be dedicated
to the Safe Water and aids Project (swap)
— the Crystal of Hope winner in 2014.
hiv-positive women in kenya are trained to
become ‘community health promoters’ as part of the
swap project. They are trained in basic health care
and the preparation of clean drinking water so that
they can then share this knowledge with the local
population. The women receive health and hygiene
products such as soaps, cleaning and disinfecting
agents, nappies and condoms as start-up capital.
The sale of these products serves a double purpose:
the population benefit from the increased health
standards to minimise the hiv risk and the promoters
benefit from the financial proceeds generated by the
sale of their products. pur, a water preparation and
disinfecting powder for use in river and well water,
has been most successful.

the organisation following receipt of the Crystal of Hope
donated by swarovski. Here is a brief extract of the
things which were financed by the eur 100,000
donation:
— Vehicles which enable the transportation of numerous
products and trainings in outlying regions
— Setting up of a store for foods, hygiene items, etc.
— Mobile telephones, carrier bags, solar lights, etc.
— Bikes to access more households and reach out to
more people

Im Rahmen ihrer Kollektion „Hot Mama Africa“
überweist sie eur 2 pro verkauftem Kleidungsstück
an swap Kenya. Die Scheckübergabe findet während
des Salon Imperial statt.
