Das „red ribbon celebration concert“
— Building Bridges for Peace — stellt den festlichen
Auftakt des Life Ball-Wochenendes dar.
Anlässlich der Feierlichkeiten zu „60 Jahre Staatsvertrag“
und „70 Jahre Vereinte Nationen“ lädt das Bundesministerium
für Europa, Integration und Äußeres
gemeinsam mit dem Verein aids life zu diesem
besonderen Konzertabend im Wiener Burgtheater.
internationale größen der Opern- und Theaterszene
wie Anna Netrebko, Diana Damrau, Juan Diego
Flórez, Piotr Beczała, Plácido Domingo, Thomas
Quasthoff und Yusif Eyvazov sowie die Schauspielerinnen
Birgit Minichmayr und Konstanze Breitebner
stellen sich an diesem Abend gemeinsam im Zeichen des
Red Ribbon auf die Bühne. Begleitet werden sie vom
Tonkünstler-Orchester unter der Leitung des japanischen
Dirigenten Yutaka Sado.
der reinerlös des abends kommt der Clinton
Health Access Initiative (chai), einer der wichtigsten
Organisationen im Kampf gegen hiv/aids und Partner
von aids life, zugute. Bill Clintons Organisation
widmet sich vor allem Mutter-Kind-Projekten in den am
stärksten von der hiv/aids-Epidemie betroffenen Regionen.
Mithilfe der finanziellen Unterstützung konnte
die Ansteckungsrate von Babys durch ihre hiv-positiven
Mütter in den letzten 6 Jahren von 30 auf 14 % gesenkt
werden — Ziel bis 2016 ist, unter 5 % zu gelangen.
The ‘Red Ribbon Celebration Concert’ — Building
Bridges for Peace — represents the festive prelude
to the Life Ball week end. To mark the festivities
for ‘60 years of the state treaty’ and ‘70 years of the
United Nations’, the Federal Ministry for Europe,
Integration and Foreign Affairs together with the aids
life association is inviting guests to a special concert
evening at Vienna’s Burgtheater.

theatre, such as Anna Netrebko, Diana Damrau, Juan
Diego Flórez, Piotr Beczała, Plácido Domingo, Thomas
Quasthoff and Yusif Eyvazov and actresses Birgit
Minichmayr and Konstanze Breitebner will be taking to
the stage during the evening to support the Red Ribbon.
They will be accompanied by the Tonkünstler Orchestra
and Japanese conductor Yutaka Sado.
the proceeds from the evening will be donated to
the Clinton Health Access Initiative (chai), one of the
most important international organisations in the battle
against hiv/aids and a long-term partner of aids life.
Bill Clinton’s organisation focuses in particular on
mother-child projects in the regions most heavily affected
by the hiv/aids epidemic. Using this financial
support, the percentage of babies infected by their
hiv-positive mothers has fallen from 30% to 14% over
the last 6 years. The aim for 2016 is to reduce this even
further to below 5%.
