2 Was zur Tradition geworden ist
Der aids Solidarity Cooler designed by Cavalli manufactured
by lobmeyr besticht durch sein besonderes Design, stellt bei der
Auktion aber vor allem das Unikat mit dem höchsten ideellen
Wert dar. Der Champagner-Kühler im typischen Cavalli-Design
wurde bei der aids Solidarity Gala 2012 von Karolína Kurková
und ihrem Ehemann ersteigert. Aufgrund des großen Interesses
wurde er von seinen Besitzern im Jahr darauf dem Life Ball
gestiftet und ging mit einer Gravur seiner prominenten Paten
erneut in die Auktion, wo Tereza Maxová und ihr Partner den
Zuschlag erhielten. 2014 gesellte sich James Ferraro zu den prominenten
Paten. Der handgeschliffene Kühler wird nun jährlich
versteigert, Ausrufungspreis ist der Kaufpreis des Vorjahres. Der
Käufer erhält zusätzlich sechs exklusive Champagnergläser von
Lobmeyr sowie den Kühler, diesen aber nur für die Dauer eines
Jahres. In den Sockel wird der Name jedes Käufers eingraviert,
wodurch sich der immaterielle Wert mit jedem Jahr erhöht.

A long-standing tradition
The aids Solidarity Cooler designed by Cavalli and manufactured
by lobmeyr is characterised by a special design and is a
unique item with the highest sentimental value. The champagne
cooler in a typical Cavalli design was auctioned off by Karolína
Kurková and her husband at the aids Solidarity Gala 2012. It
was donated back to the Life Ball by its owners the year afterwards
and went to auction again, engraved with the names of
its former illustrious owners. Tereza Maxová and her partner
went on to submit the winning bid. In 2014, James Ferraro was
added to this list of famous patrons. The hand-cut cooler is now
auc tioned off each year with the initial auction price being the
pre vious year’s purchase price. The buyer receives six exclusive
champagne glasses from Lobmeyr in addition to the cooler for
one year only. The name of each buyer is engraved onto the
base, which increases the sentimental value each year. Starting

chopard fertigte 2014 in seinen Ateliers ein einzigartiges
Collier aus 18 kt Weißgold. Herzstück: ein 4-karätiger Diamant
im Herzschliff. Die Schleife: eine Hommage an das
Red Ribbon, besetzt mit 105 Rubinen. Die Weißgold-Kette
zieren Diamanten und Rubine. Verkauft wurde das Einzelstück
um eur 150.000.
a Jewellery item for all eternity
In 2014, chopard produced a unique necklace in 18 ct white
gold at its studios. At the core of the piece is a 4 ct heart-cut
diamond. The bow: a homage to the red ribbon, set with 105
rubies. The white gold chain is decorated with diamonds and
rubies. The one-off piece was sold for eur 150.000.

2014 verwandelte David LaChapelle, angelehnt an das Life
Ball-Motto „Garten der Lüste“, den Garten seiner Villa in
ein paradiesähnliches Universum, in dem Liebe keine Geschlechtergrenzen
kennt. Im Zentrum der Fotografie: Transgender-
Model Carmen Carrera. Laut artnet.com war „Once in the
Garden“ mit einem Verkaufspreis von eur 180.000 der am
teuersten verkaufte LaChapelle aller Zeiten. Gleich dahinter
folgte der speziell für den Life Ball designte audi s1 by
David LaChapelle mit einem Verkaufspreis von eur 130.000.
2015 wird der Audi a3 e-tron by Jean Paul Gaultier zur Versteigerung
gelangen.
Art for a good cause
In 2014, LaChapelle transformed the garden of his villa into a
‘Garden of Eden’-like world with love being free from gender
boundaries, based on the Life Ball motto of ‘Garden of Earthly
Delights’. In the focus of the photography: transgender model
Carmen Carrera. According to artnet.com, ‘Once in the Garden’
was LaChapelle’s most expensive sale of all time with a sales
price of eur 180,000. Followed by the audi s1 by David
LaChalpelle, this year an Audi a3 e-tron by Jean Paul Gaultier
will be put up for auction.
