2. The amount received should be the amount after MY tax has bsen deducted at
source, Maintenance (or al bony) can be ~ in either of the following ways:
a. The (ex) spouse is tsxed on his income, including the psrt he pays as
maintenance, snd the informant is not liable for any further tax on the
maintenance she rece ives.
b. The (ex) spouse claims tax relief on the maintenance he pays and the
informant is then liable for any tax due. Since she may receive the
maintenance via a solicitor, a court, or the DHSS, rather than directly
from her (ex) spouse, it is possible that the tax for *ich ahe is liable
is deducted before she receives the payment.
3. Payments made through SB Office
If maintenance payments appear to be recorded at 18(d) and at maintenance qns,
delete from supplementary benefit and code at Qn. 27.
II Qn. 29 Other Regular Payments
Applies to all except those coded 9 above Qn. 13.
Check that at least one of code 1, 5-8 is ringed, or that code 2 is ringed.
Maximum MC = 4 (including code 3) .
If Q. 29 is blank - code 2.
If Q.29 is refused - cede 3.
If Q.29 is coded 1, 5-8 but the amount cannot be coded for any reason, leave the
~recode(s ) ringed but add code 3.
