Check the accuracy of the coding at (a) - (c) as follows -
(a) Applies to all Luic.i2 ..*C*E A
Check back to H/hid Q20 and check that the coding at (a) is
correct.
Refe$ incorrect coding to S/V.
Recode answers fran 4 into codes I-3, 5-7 or 9, as recorded at
Household Q20 as necessary.
If Q20 is not answered refer to S/V.
(b) APPlies if (a) is coded 1 or 3.
Check that the coding is correct.
Amend (b) if necessary and the subsequent continuity.
(c) APPlies if (a) is coded 2.
Check that the coding is correct.
Amend (c) if necessary and the subsequent continuity.
NB . If the property is owned jointly by HOH and wife who are both household
msmbers and anyone else in the household, priority rngivento code 3 at
Household Q20, so (a ) should be recoded to 3. In these cases rsmember to
recode part (b) and delete (d) so th,itat (b) only the HOH is coded 1 and
other household msmbers are coded 2 at (b). Delete Q7-I 2 as necessary.
Part (d) This establishes who should answer Q7-1 2 in the less common cases ie
other joint ownerships or where the accommodation is owned by (ex)
spouse who is not a member of the household.
(d) APPlies if (a) is coded 4-7 or 9.
Check the accuracy of the coding as follows -
If (d) is coded 4 - (ex )spouse who is not a member of the
household, then all msmbers of the household should be coded 2 at
(d) and Q7-12 will not bs asked for that household.
If (a) is coded 5 - Joint HOH and [ex) s~use where the (ex) spouse
is not a msmber of the household, the HOH only should be coded 1 at
(d).
If (a) is coded 6 - Joint HOH or wife and somsone else where al1
are members of the bousebold, if the HOH is one of the joint owners
part (d) shou2d be coded 1 for HOH, and 2 for all other hnusehold
members. Recode (d) to 2 and delete Q7-I2 as necessary. If the
tfOHis not one of the joint owners ie it is wife of HOH and another
household member - refer to s/v.
