Ring the number of inpatient stays - 2 digits.
Use code 99 for no answers.

for the wsekend duxing a spell as an inpatient, this counts as one spsll.

Ring the number of private visits.
If QTI.6[b) is not answered try to work out the number of visits frcm the number of
columns ccmpleted at Qn.6(b)(i), otherwise use code 99 for no answers.
For a description of private treatment please see ~.4 (c). Include as private stays
those during which the informant paid for medical care, or accommodation,or both.

Check that the n~er of columns completed equals the number of private stays at
Qn.6(b). Add more colum.nsor sheets if necessary. Amend @ .6(b) to equal the number
of ccmpleted columns if necessary.
Each column should be single coded.
Private wings in NHS hospitals are included in code 1.
